Buddle Findlay and Bell Gully are pleased to be appointed as joint legal advisers to Let's Get Wellington Moving (LGWM), a $7.4b transformational city shaping programme for Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington.
LGWM is a once in a generation opportunity to shape Wellington’s future, align transport and urban development, move more people with fewer vehicles, and help address the climate crisis. It is a wide ranging programme, including what will be Wellington's largest transport and urban development infrastructure project, and is expected to run for 10 years. The programme will set the future direction of Te Whanganui-a-Tara and help ensure that Wellington remains a vibrant place to live, work and play for many decades to come.
Buddle Findlay and Bell Gully will be supported by Ashurst, who have helped deliver many such transformative projects in Australia and around the world, as well as prominent Wellington barristers Paul Radich KC and Hugh Kettle.
The consortium will work closely with LGWM and its partners (Wellington City Council, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa) to plan, design and consent the next phases of the city’s expanding rapid transit network.
