Buddle Findlay is pleased to have advised Olam Food Ingredients on the development, construction and procurement of its new dairy production facility in Tokoroa, New Zealand.
The facility, which officially opened on 16 November 2023, is Olam Food Ingredient's first facility in New Zealand and incorporates a number of state-of-the-art environmentally sustainable features, including a biomass boiler fuelled by sustainably sourced wood fibre and the establishment of a nursery on the facility site to grow native plants for local farmers for riparian planting (using treated wastewater from the facility's milk processing operations). The facility will also provide more than 50 new jobs for the wider Tokoroa region.
The Buddle Findlay team was led by partners Nick Bragg (corporate), Daniel Kelleher (property), and Susie Kilty (overseas investment matters), along with senior associate Ed McGimpsey, who acted on all construction and procurement matters.
