On 25 August 2023, New Zealand Korean Lawyers Association (NZKLA) celebrated its official incorporation with a launch party held at Buddle Findlay's Auckland office. About 70 Korean lawyers practising in New Zealand together with Korean law school students attended the launch party and celebrated together.
NZKLA aims to bring together Korean lawyers practising in New Zealand, fostering networks amongst its members and serving the wider Korean community in New Zealand by providing legal support. The association currently has 90 members and is expected to grow more in the coming years.
Buddle Findlay partner Hak Jun Lee has been elected as the President of NZKLA and is excited to serve the association and Korean community within this role for the next two years. Alongside Hak Jun, there are another six committee members committed to growing the association and its membership base.
Once the association is all geared up, NZKLA also hopes to promote and foster networks with other legal associations in New Zealand and collaborate with them to promote mutual professional growth and development and create business opportunities.
