Buddle Findlay has advised Contact Energy on its acquisition of Western Energy Services. Contact purchased 100% of the shares in Western Energy Services, a specialist geothermal well service company based in Taupō, on 31 March 2021.
Wellington Corporate partners Renee Stiles and Steve Nightingale led the transaction, with support provided by Nicola Boyce-Bacon, Miriam Andrews, Danielle Brittain, Tony Dellow and Anna Parker.
Contact and Western Energy Services have worked closely together over a number of years to jointly develop innovative technology that has materially lowered the cost of Contact’s geothermal operations.
