The Fast-track Approvals Bill (Bill) has been passed, and will now be prepared for Royal assent to become an Act of Parliament.
The purpose of the Bill is to provide a streamlined 'one stop shop' decision-making process to facilitate the delivery of infrastructure and development projects with significant regional or national benefits.
Substantive applications for projects 'listed' in the Bill to use the fast-track approvals process and referral applications for other projects to use the process may be lodged from 7 February 2025.
This new legislation will be an important focus for all involved in resource management practice next year.
