Yesterday, the Ministry for the Environment and Statistics NZ released the latest report on the state of the environment – Our Freshwater 2020. You can access the report, a summary and media release here.
The report builds on previous reports on the state of New Zealand’s fresh water, taking a deeper look into the issues affecting fresh water in New Zealand. It identifies pressing issues facing freshwater environments now and into the future and provides new insights into the health of freshwater ecosystems and consented water takes. Those making decisions about freshwater use, ecosystem conservation and improving the health and mana of our freshwater resources should spend some time considering the data and analysis presented in this report.
