Profile
Will specialises in banking and finance with particular expertise in derivatives and securities financing.
He advises clients on both sides of the derivatives market on trading all asset classes - from global investment banks to smaller regional banks, broker/dealers, hedge funds, and traditional asset managers.
Prior to joining Buddle Findlay, Will spent nine years working in the derivatives team at Fieldfisher in London, including one year on secondment at ICBC Standard Bank.

Advising the finance parties
on the project financing of Tauhei Solar Farm, being developed by a joint venture between Harmony Energy and First Renewables (a Clarus company). On completion in late 2026, the solar farm will add 202 Megawatt peak (MWp) of energy capacity to the New Zealand grid
Acting for the hedge counterparties
on a transaction under the Infrastructure Funding and Financing Act implemented by Crown Infrastructure Partners
Acting for a bank
providing deal contingent fx and interest rate hedging to private equity/corporate clients party to company/business acquisitions
Acting for the hedge counterparty
in connection with loans to European real estate funds to be securitised – including ensuring compliance of trading documentation and credit support arrangements with ratings agencies' criteria and UK/EU derivatives market regulation
Working with a broker/dealer
to build its synthetic prime brokerage business – including advising on developing a crypto asset derivative product and on issues arising due to Russian sanctions/market closures
Advising a bank
